The World’s Biggest by Terminal Area

Barajas Airport is Spain’s busiest airport, handling more than 52 million passengers in 2007 between Spain’s attractive capital city, Madrid, and hundreds of domestic, European and international destinations. It opened in 1928 and ranks as the world’s 10th and Europe’s 4th busiest airport and the biggest one by terminal area in the world. Barajas is the primary hub and maintenance base for Iberia Spanish Airlines, which responsible for more than 60% of the traffic.
